Fire Chief Tom Forster

Tom Forster serves as the Fire Chief for Plumas Eureka Fire Department.  He is in the 4th of 5 generations in his exteded family in the fire service.  All have served in northern California, for a total of over 270 years, in career and volunteer roles.  Tom has served for 41 years in Marin and Plumas Counties, and has been Secretary/Treasurer for the Plumas County Fire Chiefs Association for the past seven years.  He is a certified Master Instructor for California State Fire Training, teaching other firefighters to serve as instructors for over 28 years.  He has been recognized by his Plumas County peers with the Chief Robbie Cassou Fire Instructor of the Year award.  "...I really enjoy teaching and helping others learn about the fire service, photography, and video production."  He is also an avid fire service historian, and leads the Marin Fire History project for the Marin County Fire Chiefs Association, which can be found at  Tom has made his living in real estate and operations management in the film and television industry for the past 33 years.  He credits and thanks his wife Maureen with being very supportive of his work and many volunteer commitments.  Maureen serves as the voluteer Photographer for the Plumas Eureka and Greagle Fire Departments, and also spent her career in the film and television industry.
